In its strategy adopted in 2018, the Faculty stated that the most vital impact of our education must be to empower our graduates to understand sustainability challenges and the related social and societal environments, enabling them to provide informed and insightful professional responses.
In the future of architectural education, emphasizing environmental, social, and economic dimensions is essential. Our focus is not on introducing these as isolated, standalone subjects, but rather on establishing an integrated horizontal principle that permeates the entire architectural engineering curriculum.
By 2024, BME is both capable of and committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across multiple levels, including: Education and Research, Development & Campus Operations. As a primary milestone in this mission, the “Sustainable BME” program was launched in 2022 to coordinate these institutional efforts.
