Pre-engineering Programme (Preparatory)/ 2 Semesters

Required documents:
– Copy of High School diploma (with notarized English translation)
– Copy of High School transcript (with notarized English translation)

– Copy of Passport

There is no entrance exam.

Single-Cycle integrated MSc (OTM) in Architectural Engineering/ 10 Semesters

Required documents:
– Copy of High School diploma (with notarized English translation)
– Copy of High School transcript (with notarized English translation)
– Proof of English Language Proficiency**
– Curriculum Vitae (CV)
– Copy of Passport

Entrance exams in Mathematics and Physics.
Sample tests and practice materials are available on the e-admission website

Based on their results, applicants may be:
– admitted to the Architectural Engineering Single-Cycle integrated MSc Programme
– placed in the Pre-engineering Programme (see above)
– or declined admission

Pre-MSc in Architecture (Preparatory)/ 2 Semesters

This program is exclusively for candidates who passed the MSc in Architecture entrance exam but did not qualify for direct admission to the Master’s level.

MSc in Architecture / 4 Semesters

Required documents:
– Copy of BSc Diploma in Architecture or Architectural Engineering (with notarized English translation)
-Official Transcript of Records (with notarized English translation)
– Proof of English Language Proficiency**
– Two Letters of Recommendation
– Portfolio (a bundled PDF showcasing a representative sample of previous architectural design works of the applicant – including floor plans, section drawings, and renderings)
– Curriculum Vitae (CV)
– Copy of Passport

Entrance exams in Architectural Design. The competency test (sample test available here) consists of a timed design sketch and a brief online interview.

Based on their results, applicants may be:
– admitted to the MSc in Architecture Programme
– placed in the Pre-MSc in Architecture Programme (see above)
– or declined admission

Doctoral programmes (PhD and DLA)

The Faculty of Architecture hosts two doctoral schools. The Doctoral School of Architecture provides a Doctor of Liberal Arts (DLA) programme specialised in architectural design, while the Csonka Pál Doctoral School of Architecture offers a PhD in Architectural Engineering programme focused on individual research.

– Medium of Instruction (MOI) Certificate (Official letter from your previous institution confirming that English was the primary language of instruction)
– BME English Language Entrance Exam (A passing score on the internal English skills exam via the e-admission system).

Doctoral programmes (PhD and DLA) require English language proficiency equivalent to TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0 (or higher)
