DISTANCE LEARNING SYSTEM
AS A STUDENT, WHAT APPLICATIONS DO I NEED TO USE IN THE DISTANCE LEARNING SYSTEM?
The university has been working constantly on the distance learning system, the lecturers are trying to adapt to the extraordinary circumstances. This form of education creates a new situation for everyone, while we are making efforts to the best solution, obviously not everything will be perfect.
For the administration and organization of education basically the Moodle system will be used. In case, you have not registered yet, please register until 28th March 2020 at the latest. The instruction is available here.
Microsoft Office 365 is used to ease the communication. The instruction is available here.
In case, you have not registered yet, please register until 28 March 2020 at the latest.
It is compulsory to register and use both applications!
It is very important to read messages sent via Neptun to your e-mail address – or directly in the Neptun system as they may provide information about virtual classes (eg. invitation into MS Teams groups).
AS A STUDENT, WHEN DO I GET TO KNOW WHAT TO DO IN ORDER TO BE PRESENT IN THE CLASSES?
Classes will be basically held according to the timetable.
During the studio week, the Faculty has compiled a handout about necessary modifications of the courses in the new situation. This handout indicates separately those classes needing personal presence, therefore will only be kept after the release of epidemiology measures.
AS A STUDENT, WILL MY PRESENCE BE JUSTIFIED IN CASE I CANNOT ATTEND THE CLASSES? CAN I HAVE ACCESS TO THE LEARNING MATERIALS LATER?
Based on the decision of BME, attendance of the theory and practice courses may not be checked until further measures, and has to be considered as fulfilled by the student.
Due to the above, real-time attendance of the virtual classes is not compulsory. However, it is very advisable, as participation will help you to acquire the knowledge.
There will be some courses
with video records,
and some other
online streamed classes which you can join.
However, the learning materials of the assessment will
be available in asynchronous way (to be downloaded) as well.
GENERAL STUDY QUESTIONS
WHEN CAN I RECEIVE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANGES OF EVALUATION OF LEARNING OUTCOMES?
Regarding the evaluation of learning outcomes the normative standpoint is that it will be changed only in justified case. It means that in base case the original schedule (as it was announced in the beginning of the semester) will be applied for the mid-term and final submissions. In case of any diversions, students will be informed during the Studio week by the heads of course and the Faculty based on Faculty’s agreement. The Departments will do their best to help home study and work, but in return they will expect to keep the deadlines.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE TECHNICAL PROBLEM AFFECTING THE EVALUATION OF LEARNING OUTCOMES?
Should you have technical problems considering the task solution, do inform the head of course as soon as possible/for the first time, but at latest within 24 hours. Due to the extraordinary evaluation of learning outcomes and the circumstances you are asked to acutely keep the deadlines.
HOW DO COMPLEX AND DIPLOMA COURSES CONTINUE IN THIS SEMESTER?
About the consultation schedule and methodology of Complex and Diploma courses concerning more Departments, students will be informed by their responsible Design Department.
MAY THE TIME OF DIPLOMA DEFENSE AND THE FINAL EXAMINATION PERIOD CHANGE?

MAY THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE DIPLOMA PROJECTS CHANGE?
Basically there are no changes concerning requirements, but little modifications, especially in the way of submission are possible. The Faculty will make a decision about it in the near future.
