The Royal Institute of British Architects has announced this year’s RIBA President’s Medals competition. First awarded in 1836, it is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious awards in architectural education.
As one of the invited institutions, the BME Faculty of Architecture nominates one master’s thesis project (diploma project) each year for the RIBA Silver Medal, for which all students graduating this year are eligible to apply. The project to be officially submitted for the award will be selected from the entries by the Faculty Jury.
- Submission deadline for the internal faculty review: July 10, 2026 – 12:00 (noon)
- Official submission deadline for the RIBA Silver Medal: July 27, 2026 – 15:00 (GMT)
- Faculty submission method: Digital upload, consisting of the 10 project boards (Set1, Set2) + a portfolio (recommended attachment), in compliance with the requirements specified in the Guidelines. The submission for the internal faculty review is not anonymous.
- Other RIBA administrative and application requirements only need to be completed by the selected nominee.
