The BME Faculty of Architecture is announcing the Hauszmann Diploma Prize Competition for the twenty-sixth time this year. The prize, which has so far been awarded to 126 architects, is open to anyone who defended their diploma project in 2026 in the integrated (OTM) master’s program, MSc program, or BSc program across any specialization at the BME Faculty of Architecture.
The award is a diploma prize that recognizes not only the outstanding architectural quality of the thesis project but also—as determined by the jury—its conceptual background, social responsibility, and novelty, setting an example for successive generations of students. The prestige of the diploma prize is reflected in the list of past recipients, many of whom have become recognized architects and educators both in Hungary and abroad.
Among the honors awarded at the Faculty of Architecture, the Hauszmann Prize is awarded annually to six former students who obtained their degree that year by a three-member jury of architects independent of the Faculty: five to authors of diploma projects created in the integrated OTM/MSc program, and one in the BSc program. The prize is presented by the Dean of the Faculty at the graduation ceremony. The award comes with a certificate and a commemorative plaque.
